  1. * Fit all tubs and showers with strainers to catch hair and soap chips.
  2. * Soak shower heads in vinegar to remove mineral deposits and improve spray.
  3. * Never pour grease down the drain.
  4. * Avoid putting fibrous waste (e.g. banana peels) down the waste disposal, and flush with water frequently.
  5. * Remove odors and clear waste disposal blockages with a mixture of orange rinds and ice cubes. Add liquid detergent and flush with water.
  6. * Check your water meter when no water is running. If the meter is running, you have a leak.
