Lenahan, Petty and Red Rocks. 30 years and counting!

June 1st, 2010 by Frank The Plumber

A great note that came in today from Plumber Lenahan:

Here’s an interesting picture. I’m playing Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside Denver tonight with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The first show of their 2010 tour. There is a tunnel that leads from backstage, under the seats and up to the front of house mix position. Some of you will know it well. There is a lot of graffiti on the walls of that tunnel. Some time ago I started making a note every time I played here with this band. I think I may now have the record as you’ll see from the dates. Others may have been coming here longer or more often, but I think I have done this venue over the most years with the same act.

Please welcome our new plumber, director Chris Neil!

May 7th, 2010 by Frank The Plumber

Chris Neil is now available for directing gigs through Frank, and that is good news for all.

For Chris, filmmaking isn’t just a profession, it’s a family way of life. Growing up on the sets of his uncle’s (Francis Coppola) films, Chris was exposed to the passion inherent in great films and the tenacity required to make them. He learned a great deal from his creative collaborations, and carried many of his lessons into his own career. But it is his fierce loyalty to both his vision and his story that are Chris’s own.

Chris began working with actors professionally in the mid 90s on Coppola’s JACK and THE RAINMAKER. He later went on to shepherd both Sofia Coppola and brother Roman’s feature film debuts, THE VIRGIN SUICIDES and CQ (on which he also served as 2nd Unit Director). His commanding work on those projects lead to hires on other films including MARIE ANTOINETTE, THUMBSUCKER, STAR WARS EPISODE III, BEING JOHN MALKOVICH, ADAPTATION. Chris recently wrapped work on the films, HESHER and PRIEST, and re-teamed with Sofia on her latest, SOMEWHERE. In addition to his work on feature films, Chris has also gained recognition as a commercial director, creating spots for global brands Volkswagen, T-Mobile, Levis, StubHub.com, and Canon.

Bring on the videos and spots, Chris will unclog all the issues you have and deliver some fine films for ya!

Horror film shoot at FTP this past weekend….

March 24th, 2010 by Frank The Plumber

This past Sunday, Frank the Plumber Headquarters became the home of filming for David Kang’s new horror film, “Fear Not”. With a talented cast and cameos from George Maloof (owner of the Sacramento Kings and Vegas’ The Palms Hotel & Casino), Kang’s crew shot the opening scenes of the movie set to premiere in the fall of 2010. Shooting on Super 8mm cameras, the Blair Witch-esque film is based on a group of young adults who decide to live in a newly-renovated Louisiana plantation home, only to find out that is it haunted and their documentation of the phenomena taking over becomes the plot for this thrilling new film. The haunted house, located in Los Angeles, has had other horror movies like Halloween II filmed in it as well. Directors Jamell Saleem and Nico are very excited about this project and eager for its distribution in early 2011

The Plumbers have moved!

December 16th, 2009 by Frank The Plumber

In many ways it’s a bit sad for us plumbers to have fully cleared out of the Tree House in Laurel Canyon, but we’re also pretty damn excited to be in this finely piped 100 year old brick building in the heart of Hollywood. Come visit soon!

A few pics for ya.
