KORN live performance, Bakersfield
July 12th, 2010 by Frank The PlumberIn anticipation of KORN’s new album KORN III: REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE, the team at Frank was brought in to shoot them performing live for air on HDNET and then online on MySpace Music. Directed by Russell Thomas, in collaboration with HDNET, the shoot took place in a cropcirle cut in a wheat field in Bakersfield, CA, the band’s hometown. The seven camera shoot featured two 60′ AKELA cranes, four cameras on sticks and one helicopter shooting aerial stills and video.
As part of the project, Frank also produced a series of web viral videos which ran as a lead up to the show. Directed by Chris Groban, the videos offered up a glimpse at the seemingly random appearance of the cropcirle told from the perspective of a couple out on the road and a local news crew reporting on the strange occurences in Bakersfield.
